Divide & Conquer: The Complete Division Course
Grade 3 Level | Option of 2 & 3 Classes a Week
Courses starting every Monday and Thursday
The course begins with a focus on building a strong conceptual base for division though equal sharing and equal grouping structures.
This course has two classes specifically designed to put emphasis on the relationship between multiplication and division and the students apply these skills to learn new concepts throughout the course.
Once the concept building part is secured, learners work on division facts through the process of gradual generalization from concrete details to abstraction. These classes focus on planning the arithmetic using the number line and numerical procedures such as repeated subtraction, repeated building up, etc.
This course is perfect for students who are new to division or need a refresher on division.
The first class of this course introduces the concept of division as equal sharing. The class provides several opportunities to the learners to distribute a set of objects equally among a specified number of groups
In the second class, learners make groups with a predefined number of items in each group from a collection of items. They determine the number of equal groups formed and then write a division sentence to represent the scenario.
This class is intended to build a relationship between the equal sharing and equal grouping structures of division. Learners will make connections between the two models through story situations, equal groups, and arrays to recognize both models.
In this class students will learn about the relationship between multiplication and division through story situations, equal group models, and arrays.
In this class, students find numerous opportunities to relate division facts to multiplication facts. They use number lines and mathematical sentences to use this relationship to find the unknown at any place in a division sentence.
In this class, students solve division word problems of different structures that involve equal sharing and equal grouping scenarios.

Our math tutors are certified educators with years of teaching experience. Each of them has been hand-picked for their innovative teaching styles, the ability to tailor their lessons according to different learning needs, and their main superpower - making math fun.
The classes will be conducted on the specific topics independently of the progress in school. Math tutor will therefore not be able to assist your child with their homework.
Our tutors are capable of keeping the children engaged and learning on their own. Most parents attend just the first class and prefer to let their child learn independently for the rest of the course.
Yes, you will need a computer or tablet with a webcam, mic, and speakers to attend the classes. Also, remember to keep a whiteboard and marker (or blank sheets and pen) handy for practice during the class.
Your child's safety and privacy is our primary concern. We do not collect any personal information and all our tutors go through a rigorous background verification process. Our classes are completely safe for your child.
Each class is around 45-minutes long. Sometimes if the tutor needs more time to wrap up what they’re teaching, it can take a few minutes longer.
The first class of your course is free. We will charge your card 24 hours after the first class. If you cancel before this, no money will be deducted from your account. If you wish to stop the course at any point, you will get charged only for the number of classes attended and we will refund the remaining amount.
You can go ahead and cancel your course by visiting - My Account > Billing > Subscriptions
The course topics are designed to fit within the number of classes mentioned for every course. If due to an unforeseen event classes need to be extended beyond the original schedule, the tutor will conduct the remaining classes free of charge. Parents will be informed through email about such events.
It’s quite simple. Select the course you like and enroll your child. SplashLearn will automatically match you with a tutor who is teaching that course.
