Master Fractions in 12 Hours
Grade 5 Level | Option of 2 & 3 Classes a Week
Courses starting every Monday and Thursday
This course is designed to help students gain fluency with fraction operations and focuses on fraction addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
The course begins with a recall of addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators and then move to addition & subtraction with unlike denominators. The students will also learn to multiply fractions including mixed numbers, both with and without models in this course.
Higher concepts like multiplication of fractions as scaling and solving real-world problems involving multiplication of fractions also form part of this course. This course is perfect for those who want to build a strong foundation of fractions and also for those who want to master these concepts.
This lesson recalls an important concept of addition and subtraction of fractions including mixed numbers with like denominators both with and without the help of visual models.
"This lesson takes forward the students' understanding of addition and subtraction of like fractions to now addition and subtraction of unlike fractions both with and without the help of visual models.
This lesson includes addition and subtraction of mixed numbers with unlike denominators both with and without the help of visual models. For this students will take help of their previous understanding of converting mixed numbers to fractions.
This lesson uses benchmark fractions and fraction number sense to mentally estimate the sum and difference of two fractions with unlike denominators.
This lesson helps the students extend their previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a whole number by a fraction. Using this knowledge, students learn to find fraction of a set using visual models and multiplication.
This lesson goes deeper into multiplication of fractions. Students now understand how to multiply two fractions, both with and without area models.
This lesson helps the students to recall their previous knowledge of converting mixed numbers to improper fractions and use it to help them multiply a fraction by a mixed number or a mixed number by a mixed number.
This lesson is all about connecting the understanding of multiplication of fractions to real world applications. Students will solve a variety of mathematically rich word problems involving multiplication of fractions.
This lesson helps the students to interpret multiplication as scaling by comparing the size of a product to the size of one factor on the basis of the size of the other factor, without performing the indicated multiplication.
This lesson makes the student estimate the products of two fractions and also two mixed numbers using comparison and problem solving.

Our math tutors are certified educators with years of teaching experience. Each of them has been hand-picked for their innovative teaching styles, the ability to tailor their lessons according to different learning needs, and their main superpower - making math fun.
The classes will be conducted on the specific topics independently of the progress in school. Math tutor will therefore not be able to assist your child with their homework.
Our tutors are capable of keeping the children engaged and learning on their own. Most parents attend just the first class and prefer to let their child learn independently for the rest of the course.
Yes, you will need a computer or tablet with a webcam, mic, and speakers to attend the classes. Also, remember to keep a whiteboard and marker (or blank sheets and pen) handy for practice during the class.
Your child's safety and privacy is our primary concern. We do not collect any personal information and all our tutors go through a rigorous background verification process. Our classes are completely safe for your child.
Each class is around 45-minutes long. Sometimes if the tutor needs more time to wrap up what they’re teaching, it can take a few minutes longer.
The first class of your course is free. We will charge your card 24 hours after the first class. If you cancel before this, no money will be deducted from your account. If you wish to stop the course at any point, you will get charged only for the number of classes attended and we will refund the remaining amount.
You can go ahead and cancel your course by visiting - My Account > Billing > Subscriptions
The course topics are designed to fit within the number of classes mentioned for every course. If due to an unforeseen event classes need to be extended beyond the original schedule, the tutor will conduct the remaining classes free of charge. Parents will be informed through email about such events.
